Introduction
SUPERON Ag 50N is a general-purpose silver brazing alloy designed to deliver excellent mechanical properties. Its composition of 50% silver, 16% copper, 15% zinc, 3% nickel, and 16% cadmium provides a balance of strength and workability. The addition of nickel enhances wetting on carbides and reduces free flow, resulting in a thicker braze joint that can withstand higher stresses. Operating at 645°C with a shear strength of 150–300 MPa, it complies with international standards BACuAg12, Ag351, Ag9, BAg-3, and L-Ag50CdNi. This makes it particularly suitable for applications requiring durable, stress-resistant joints.
Applications
A versatile, general-purpose alloy with outstanding mechanical properties. Nickel addition improves wetting on carbides, while its lower fluidity results in a thicker braze joint, enhancing its ability to withstand higher stresses.
