Introduction

SUPERON Ag 27 is an economical silver brazing alloy designed with good wetting characteristics, making it particularly suitable for brazing hard metals to steel mountings. Its composition of 27% silver, 38% copper, 20% zinc, 5.5% nickel, and 9.5% manganese enhances wettability on difficult materials such as tungsten and molybdenum. Operating at 810°C with a shear strength of 150–300 MPa, it conforms to international standards Ag503 and L-Ag27. While its relatively high melting point restricts certain applications, it remains an excellent choice for heavy-duty brazing where strength and reliable bonding are essential.

Applications

A budget-friendly alloy with excellent wetting properties, perfect for brazing hard metals to steel mountings. Nickel and manganese additions improve wettability on tungsten and molybdenum materials.
